Students will create a project of their own choice with the benefit of learning in a mixed level class. Beginners work through basic steps of a successful process: project planning, warp making, dressing the loom and weaving. 3226 Design & Knit Your Own Shawlette
Because there is no shaping involved, a rectangular or crescent shaped shawl is much easier to design than it looks. Each student will choose an easy lace pattern or perhaps some Aran cables and then learn how to put it all together to make a beautiful garment. Materials: pencil and paper, 900 - 1200 yards of yarn, needles - appropriate size for the yarn chosen & markers.
